To start this weekend's celebration early, here are some 4th of July Parade memories from the early 80's.

My hometown had a parade that went down main street, turned around and came back up main street. So, if you missed it the first time, you can catch it on the way back.

Notice the potty chair. I'm not sure if was meant for all the kids or just for my sister. She would have been about 2 years old when this was taken.
We plan on starting the job of potty training Addy very shortly-hopefully within the next month.

We had just gotten Addy a tricycle from my brother. It's a tad big for her, but we're going to try and make it work. She asked for a helmet from the Easter Bunny. Let's hope the little bunny heard her request. ;)

Today would have been my mother's 58th birthday. Sadly she past away 8 years ago. I miss her everyday, especially when I look at my children. They will never be able hear her voice or sense her soft touch.

This photo was taken at her Aunt Jan's. She loved horses, yet she was allergic to them. That was one of reasons she had to part with her horse. As you can tell, she was having a fabulous time riding. I imagine her riding a horse everyday in heaven.

I've been scanning in old photos. They have brought back many memories. So, thought I would share.

This photo takes me back 20 years. Yep, 20. I was a senior in high school and there were 5 friends that I hung out with (one of the girls is missing from this pic.) We were nicknamed the "Minnows" by a one of our guy friends. We would go everywhere together, like a school of minnows.

This was taken during one of our many typical togethers. I don't actually remember exactly what we did that evening, probably what many teenage girls do when they are with their gal pals.
