Toddler Language

As many of you know, Addy could talk your ear off since she was about 13 months old. She's just like her father. :) I have learned to decipher most of her words and what they mean. I will give you a couple of examples:

"Dance" = music on

"Can I hold you?" = Carry me

My favorite is when you have something she would like, usually it's food, this is how the conservation goes:

Addy: "Chips? Ya? Addy chips? Yep. Okay."

All along you are just staring at her with a chip just about to hit your mouth. And she has the cutest smile, nodding her head and has her hand ready for her treat.
I"m sure as time goes by there will many more phrases and words that she will say and make you drop and roll with laughter or have your jaw drop to the floor. I look forward to those times and will cherish every moment of them.

Wish list project #1-CHECKED

I started this bookcase project before I got sick back in March. I wanted to build a bookcase for Adalyn's room and found an easy DIY plan from Knock-Off Wood blog. Here are the plans.

I cut all the pieces without hubby's help, assembled them together with a little help from the husband and then he had to paint the bookcase. I had gotten sick & since being prego, I really should not be painting during the 1st trimester.

So here's the finished masterpiece:

I think Addy likes it.

It is now in her room with her books stack on the shelves, maybe not so neatly anymore, but I just don't have the time to straighten them out every evening. :)

Thank You Ana from Knock-Off Wood for providing the super easy plans. I'm definitely planning on making more furniture from your plans in the future.

Where Have I been???

These past few months have been busy. First of all, we found out we are having baby #2 this coming November. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
We been trying since last summer and finally we were blessed. You may not think that 8 months is a long time to get pregnant, but when you have the help of modern medicine, it was for us. The first 3 months were not a joyful ride for me. Six weeks in the pregnancy, I developed pneumonia and got the pleasure of spending the night in the hospital hotel. Plus I got the stomach flu on top of being nauseated the entire first trimester. Thank the Lord, I'm now in my 20th week. I have most of my energy & the nausea is a thing of the past. We also found out that Addy will be a big sister to her little brother! Matt is so excited. His dream of having his son play in the NFL could come true. :) We will just have to wait & see.

So instead of contributing to this blog all these months, I have been taking naps and working on projects that were way behind schedule. Along with being Addy's playmate, trying to keep the house somewhat clean and for not letting the dirty clothes from piling up. So in the near future, I will post the projects that I have completed. Until then...................
