Mommy & Me Monday

Sorry I missed last week, the week just went by way too fast. So to up make for, I'm including two photos, one that was meant for last week & one for this week.

This was at my Dad's 60th birthday party.

I'm holding my newest niece, Grace, and Adalyn is giving her a kiss.

Rewind

Sorry about last week, just had too much going on to write. So here's the last two week's rewind.

Started working on my Christmas gifts for my nephew & niece. I've decided to make a play car mat for the 3 year old nephew and animal wooden blocks for the newly niece. I finished the blocks. They were pretty easy to make. The only injures I sustained were some flesh wounds from the sander and a numb ring finger, from holding the orbital sander, that lasted for days. Here are the wooden blocks.

I also decided to do alphabet blocks too.

I cannot take credit for this idea. I found this tutorial from Making the World Cuter blogsite.

As for the mat, this is ending up being a more consuming project. I was going to sew everything on the mat, but it's tedious job. Now I think I'm going to glue the houses and buildings to the mat. Wish me luck.

We celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday this past two week. He had no idea that we were having a get together for him. He and the grandkids has tons of fun.

Yes, there are 60 candles on the cake. He blew them all out with one breath!

We had another baby appt. We had a level 2 US done, everything looks good. So good, that I do not have to be back to the office for 4 weeks, YEAH! My blood pressure is behaving this time around. The baby is measuring about a week ahead of schedule. Weighing about 2.8 lbs, give or take 6 oz either way. His kidneys are tad big, but we been told that's normal for boys. So no worries.

Here's a look at the belly @ 28 weeks:

Addy's new saying lately has been, " I need that." Pointing to the item she wants. It does not matter if we are at home or out & about, she sees something that strikes her fancy, "I need that."

Well that's the Rewind of the last two weeks.

Rewind

Here's this week's rewind:

It was a pretty quiet week. Had an baby appt that went well. This little bundle is a movin' and a shakin'. Just like Adalyn. I think I'm in for a rough road ahead if this bundle is anything like Addy. I'm might just have to check myself in the hospital for going crazy. :) Just kidding by the way. If he is anything like Addy, I'll get thru it (of course with the help of the hubby and family members.)
Addy & her nanny, Lindsay along with her 5 year old daughter, Ella, had a good time this week. She made a book for Addy called Addy & The Bee. Here's a look at the creativeness of her nanny. Addy also added her very own touch to the book. Take a look:

I also got to the point with Addy's play kitchen to move it into the house & let her use it. Here's a look:

The Before:

This was an entertainment center that I repurposed into this:

Addy's new play kitchen!

I went with the more modern look, stainless steel & shiny black counter tops.

I think she likes it. The first word out of her mouth was "WOW!"

There will many hours of play in this kitchen. I can just see it now. :)

I still need to accessorize it, you know, dishes, food, towels and whatever else you find in a kitchen, But that's what birthdays & Christmas are for, right?
I have to give a big thank you to Sutton Grace for the inspiration. She had done the same thing with an entertainment center. Thanks!!!

We also added to the family this week. We got a new vehicle. We opt to get a GMC Arcadia. We titled this vehicle, The Kids Car. Meaning whoever is with the kids, they will have this car. Now the hubby has another toy to play with. He was more excited to get this than I. I just don't like dishing out the payments, but know it's something that we wanted to have eventually. And we found a good deal we could not to pass on.

To end the week, we had a get together for my 81 year old grandmother. Got see some cousins, including my mom's cousin Beth. We had not seen her since my mom past away 7 years ago. I think my grandma had a nice time.

That's the Rewind...

This Week's Rewind

Here's the Rewind:

Our furnace motor went out this past week. Apparently, our unit has a separate filter that we were unaware of. We knew about the hepa filter system attached to the unit, clean the filters on a regular basis. Since the cheap filter was not found until this week, it had been caked so bad (four years of crap), there was no air flow. Hence the burned out motor. Now let's remind people that the temp outside has not been the coolest. It was 9o degrees with a humidity of 98%, dew point 78, making the heat index near 100 degrees. We finally did get the motor replaced by Wednesday afternoon. THANK YOU repairman!

On a brighter note, Adalyn show us she can now do a somersault. Take a look:

She also realized that Mommy has a baby in my tummy. She was giving my belly kisses and hugs. She even tried to tickle the baby after Daddy asked her to tickle her baby brother. How cute is that!

I also tried my hand at canning green beans this week. That means using a pressure canner. We bought one last week at Fleet Farm. I opt to buy the pressure weight canner thinking it would be easier to use and I would not have to worry about calibrating a dial canner in the future. Anyway, I'm now thinking the dial canner is the way I should have gone. Plus I should have practiced with the weight canner before canning the beans. Needless to say, I'm not sure if I canned my beans right. But when you try to push the lids down, they do not move. This means that the jars are sealed, therefore, I canned the bean properly. YEAH!!! I was uncertain for awhile. I don't want to cause my family to get sick after eating some home grown, home cooked food. Now I can explore other foods to can. I have already done salsa & applesauce last year. I cannot wait for apple picking season!

Well, that's the week in rewind. Until next Sunday......

Rewind

I hoping to start a routine of posting a week rewind. This were I can document some highlights of what has happened in the last week.
This past week:

Had a MD appt for baby #2; took my mother-in-law to help with Addy, since had no one to watch her. At the office, Addy kept asking the nurses & doc, "Mommy okay? Mommy okay?" It was the cutest thing. It's nice to know that my little wonder cares about her mommy. :)
When it was time to look at the baby- Addy was all over it. She'd go right for the US machine and look for the pictures that would be printed off. She knew exactly where to look. Such a smart cookie.
When I had to go back to the MD on Friday for some more lab work, Addy instantly headed for the US machine and said, "Baby Brother, Baby Brother" pointing the spot where the photos appear for the US. I think she will be a great Big sister.

Also this week, we started working on Addy's 2nd birthday present: her play kitchen. Here's sneak peak:

Now just need to put things together and it should be finished. She'll probable get before her birthday, since I think Daddy wants his spot back in the garage. :)
